Deleting your data

You can delete your Softbooq account and the personal data held with it at any time, from inside the product. You do not need to email anyone to start it.

Delete your account

1. Sign in at accounts.softbooq.com
2. Open your Profile.
3. Choose Delete Account, and type your email address to confirm.
4. You may add a reason. It is optional and is used only to improve the product.

Typing your email is deliberate friction. Account deletion is not something that should be one mis-click away.

What happens next

The request is recorded and reviewed before anything is erased. If your account belongs to more than one workspace, a separate review is raised for each one, so that no workspace loses records it is legally required to keep without its administrator knowing.

You can cancel. Until the erasure runs, the same Profile screen offers to withdraw the request (Cancel deletion request), and your account continues working normally in the meantime.

Get a copy first

Deletion is not the only right you have, and it is not reversible once it runs. You can download a machine-readable copy of your data from the same Profile screen (Download Your Data), and we would encourage you to do that before deleting anything.

What we have to keep, and why

Some records cannot be erased on request, because the law requires us or your workspace to retain them. Accounting documents - invoices, receipts, ledger entries - carry statutory retention periods in Germany and across the EU, and GDPR Article 17(3)(b) recognises that obligation.

Where that applies, the record is retained for the period the law requires and for nothing else. It is not used for any other purpose, and personal data that is not part of the statutory record is removed.

Disconnecting integrations

If you connected a third-party service such as Xero or Google Drive, disconnecting it in Settings removes the credentials and connection details Softbooq holds for it. Deleting your Softbooq account removes them as well.

Data held by that third party stays with them. To remove your data from Google or any other provider, use that provider's own controls - we cannot delete it on your behalf.

If you cannot sign in

Email info@softbooq.com from the address on the account. We will verify it is you before acting, which protects you from someone else deleting your data.
